Where does your dryer vent the hot air that comes out of it? The reason for this question is that the dryer exhaust will carry a lot of moisture with it. Some homeowners have their dryer venting inside of their home or basement, and this can cause serious issues over time such as mold. This is why it is important to vent your dryer correctly. Even using a lint collector that is water-filled won’t cut it.

Naturally, this can be tricky in some circumstances. Especially if your dryer is located at a spot that doesn’t have easy access to the outside, but it truly should be vented outside if you want to avoid issues.

It is also very important to keep your duct clean. If there is a buildup of lint inside of your ducts, it could cause a fire. An easy way to clean out the duct is to use a toilet brush (preferably a clean one) and reaching as far into the duct as you can. Keeping the duct straight will help prevent buildup.
