Since the Pandemic started, many of us have become accustomed to the habit of disinfecting and cleaning when we get back home from errands. But there may be something crucial that we are missing that’s right under our feet; the floor.

Recently the CDC has reported that floors and shoe soles have had the highest concentrations of COVID-19 in samples taken at a hospital facility. It was determined that the virus was being tracked outside of patient rooms to other areas of the hospital, including into non-patient care areas. This presence of COVID-19 on floors is largely because of gravity and airflow, as most virus droplets will float or fall to the ground, where they will be carried elsewhere on the soles of our shoes.

So, while giving your floors more than a sweep may be tedious, sticking to a regular disinfecting routine could play a big role in preventing the spread of infection.
