While wooden flooring is often warm and soft enough on it’s own, rugs can enhance your wooden flooring by adding comfort while also protecting it from wear and tear, especially in high-traffic areas.

In the living room, place a large rug under the sofa and chairs to anchor your seating area. Make sure it’s large enough to fit at least the front legs of your furniture to create a balanced look.

In the bedroom, use a rug that extends beneath the bed, leaving about 2 feet of rug visible on the sides. This gives a soft surface to step on when getting out of bed. Smaller accent rugs can also work well on either side of the bed.

For the dining room, a rug under the dining table adds warmth and helps to define the space. Ensure that the rug is big enough so that the chairs stay on it, even when pulled out.
