The interior walls of a home can tell you a lot about a home’s quality, but also reveal a history of a home that is very telling.  The first feature of the wall that everyone notices is the probably the paint, the color, which is many ways is probably the least important feature since it is so easy to fix or change.  In terms of wallcoverings, the issues may come if you see something like a popcorn drywall covering, this could mean heavy workload and even asbestos abatement.

Problems could also come if you notice the wall once had a wallpaper covering, but now it has been painted over, this could also mean a lot of work.   When checking the walls of a house it’s important to run your hand over certain areas of the wall, especially if they seem inconsistent or like work has been done in an area.  This could indicate that there has been water damage due to flooding or a water leak at some time.

Also, if you notice uneven baseboards or bulging areas in the wall, this could mean that the wall has been added at some point in the history of the home and needs to be looked at.  When you take a close look at the interior walls of a house, it could reveal a lot of things that would want to be aware.
