With the weather continually changing, snowing a few inches, then heating up, what could happen to that water? Without the right equipment to combat this problem, your garage can easily get flooded.
In heavy downpours, or even melting snow, the chances of your garage floor flooding increase. How can you protect yourself from this?
For starters, having a runoff drain can be extremely useful for diverting the water flow away from the base of your garage. Of course, a 2-inch wide drain won’t do you much good, so having at least a 6-inch wide drain will prevent excess water.
Secondly, having a rubber seal on the bottom of your garage door will prevent excess from reaching inside the garage. However, the best chance of preventing water damage to your garage floor is diverting the water flow before it reaches the garage, so a wide driveway drain is the best option.
